How To Do The Dumbbell Side Bend Exercise
‘- Stand tall with feet hip-width and knees softly unlocked. Hold one dumbbell at your side with a neutral grip; keep the opposite hand light on your torso or at your temple.
– Set posture: ribs down, brace the abdominal wall, shoulders relaxed and level, head in line with the spine, pelvis neutral.
– Inhale to prepare. Without rotating, slide the dumbbell down the outside of your thigh by laterally flexing toward the weight; keep hips level and torso facing forward.
– Stop before the spine flexes forward or the shoulder hikes. Range is modest—maintain a straight line from ear to hip.
– Exhale and return to upright by actively shortening the space between ribs and pelvis on the non-weighted side; keep the dumbbell close to the leg.
– Pause tall in neutral, then repeat. Switch hands to train the other side, maintaining the same alignment and control.
