How To Do The Cable Hip Adduction Exercise
‘- Set the pulley at ankle height and attach the cuff to the leg farthest from the weight stack.
– Stand side-on to the machine, feet hip-width. Hold the machine with the hand closest to the stack for balance.
– Shift most weight to the leg nearest the stack; keep that knee softly bent and hips level (no hip hike).
– Start with the working leg slightly abducted so the cable is taut. Toes and kneecap face forward; knee straight but not locked.
– Brace lightly. Draw the working leg inward across the body (hip adduction) toward or just past the midline.
– Keep torso upright and pelvis square; avoid trunk lean, hip rotation, or collapsing the arch of the stance foot.
– Pause briefly at end range without touching the stance leg or letting the stack rest.
– Control the return, allowing the leg to move outward only as far as you can maintain level hips and forward toes.
– Use a smooth, unhurried motion with continuous tension; avoid swinging or snapping the cable.
– Switch sides and repeat with the same setup and control.
